Writing Portfolio: Published Book Link "Taking"

http://storybird.com/books/taking/?token=c8dvsarxm8

I used a website called "Storybird" to create my published children's book, "Taking."  This website is free and includes thousands of illustrations to use to create a story.  I enjoyed using this technology to create a fun and meaningful story that I will be able to share with my students.  Enjoy!

  2. That turned out AWESOME! The illustrations are outstanding and the story backs them up very well.

  3. Megan,
Yes this will be a fun book to share with your students since it shares a lesson that they can learn from. My favorite part was when you repeated the pling, pling sound. Did you originally begin with a racoon as your character or did he become your character because that was the illustrations you found in Storybird?

My students in my other class, educational technology, have been using storybird too and love it. Do you think you will ever have your 3rd graders use this book making site?

Megan you are a great writer and I hope you keep writing for yourself and for/with your students. I enjoyed your first piece and all of your pieces in your portfolio. Keep writing! Keep sharing your writing with your students! And hopefully next year or for your 702 project you can try writing on blogs. I'd love to help you with that process if you want/need it. Warmly, deanna
